Digital x-rays

An x-ray is a diagnostic tool that provides useful information during a check-up. In addition to providing important information on areas that are invisible to the naked eye, x-rays serve a preventive purpose when preparing long-term treatment protocols.

State-of-the-art tools

Today’s digital image capturing systems have replaced traditional silver film images. The digital system saves the images to a computer so that they can be viewed and enlarged immediately after they have been taken. In addition to being very safe, this technology is quick, comfortable and environmentally friendly (no need for archives and no chemical waste).

The most common types of x-rays are bite-wing, periapical and panoramic. They can detect or determine:

  • Cavities
  • Gum disease
  • Bone mass
  • Abscesses, cysts or tumours
  • Tooth development
